Eduardo Trinidad, MD, FAPA
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Eduardo Trinidad is a board-certified psychiatrist and Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association with over 20 years of experience spanning outpatient, inpatient, consult liaison, and interventional psychiatry. As Chief Medical Officer of Capitol Park Mental Health Hospital—a new 144-bed behavioral health facility opening in Summer 2025—Dr. Trinidad brings deep clinical expertise and a longstanding commitment to access, equity, and innovation in psychiatric care. Raised in North Dakota by Filipino immigrant parents, his father a psychiatrist and U.S. Army Reserve officer, and his mother a pharmacist, Dr. Trinidad brings a culturally grounded and community-informed lens to his leadership. He began his clinical career in the East Metro, providing outpatient care at Psych Recovery in St. Paul, and inpatient psychiatry and ECT at St. Joseph’s Hospital. His work across diverse populations has shaped his focus on compassionate, patient-centered care. After nearly two decades in private practice, he transitioned to full-time hospital-based psychiatry, where he now serves as a consult liaison psychiatrist at M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital. His practice has consistently intersected with quality improvement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and strategic initiatives focused on length-of-stay reduction, patient flow, and high-reliability team-based care. Dr. Trinidad earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from the University of North Dakota before completing his psychiatry residency in the Twin Cities. He is currently furthering his executive leadership training through the Minnesota Physician Leadership Institute (MPLI) and the American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL). At Capitol Park, Dr. Trinidad is leading the development of a mission-driven clinical team committed to delivering trauma-informed, multidisciplinary psychiatric care in a purpose built environment designed for healing, safety, and dignity. Guided by a shared commitment to compassion, clinical excellence, and person-centered care, he is focused on expanding timely, equitable access to high-quality mental health services. His leadership also emphasizes building sustainable partnerships with community clinics, health systems, and referral networks to ensure continuity of care and improve outcomes for individuals and families throughout the East Metro, Twin Cities, and beyond.
