Located in St. Paul, Minnesota, our hospital serves adults and seniors throughout the Twin Cities area who are experiencing symptoms of mental health disorders. We understand that seeking professional mental healthcare services can feel overwhelming, which is why our admissions team is dedicated to providing guidance and support every step of the way.
Admissions Process
Our compassionate team will guide you through each part of the admissions process. We will start with a comprehensive assessment, which can be completed over the phone. During this assessment, we will discuss your current symptoms, mental and physical health histories, past substance use (if applicable), and personal wellness goals.
The admissions process at Capitol Park Mental Health Hospital consists of the following steps:
Initial Contact & Screening
You can begin the admissions process by calling us directly at any time. Our intake staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide an initial screening and gather general information about your symptoms.
Comprehensive Assessment
During the thorough evaluation, a master’s-level clinician will discuss:
- Your current mental health symptoms
- Your medical and psychiatric history
- Any co-occurring substance use concerns
- Previous addiction or mental health treatment received
- Your personal goals and preferences
- Your social support system and living situation
Clinical Review & Authorization
Once the assessment is completed, an admissions specialist will review your information with our clinical team to determine whether our facility is right for you. If we believe that it is, we will follow up with you promptly to go over the next steps and answer any remaining questions.
Insurance Verification
Our admissions team will work with your insurance provider to verify coverage and obtain care authorization. We accept most major insurance plans, including PMAP (Prepaid Medical Assistance Plans) for those in Minnesota who have Managed Medicaid coverage.
