Capitol Park Mental Health Hospital, an affiliate of Fairview Health Services, offers inpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment services for adults age 18 and older and seniors age 65 and older.
Adult Inpatient Program
When someone needs a safe, secure place to begin their healing journey, with 24/7 support, an inpatient program is often the best choice. It is sometimes the first stage of care before the person steps down to a less intensive type of program.
At our St. Paul hospital, we provide round-the-clock care for people who are experiencing severe, acute symptoms of a mental health condition. Our compassionate team collaborates to help each patient regain stability and build a strong foundation for long-term healing. Patients tend to stay for about 10 days.
Senior Inpatient Program
Our senior inpatient program also provides 24/7 support but with specialized programming for adults age 65 and older. Our professionals are specially trained in addressing the physical and mental health needs of seniors. Patients take part in programming alongside others in their age range, many of whom can relate to their circumstances.
A well-coordinated team provides proven forms of therapy for seniors who reside in the Twin Cities and beyond.
Learn Whether Our Programs Are Right for You
Coming to us for help can feel like a big step, and you may be uncertain what type of mental health program is right for you. We will conduct a thorough assessment, determine whether our hospital is the best fit for you, and tailor a care plan based on your unique needs.
If we determine that a different provider could better meet those needs, we can give you a referral. Before you begin participating in our program, we will gladly answer any of your questions.
Coming Soon:
Intensive Outpatient Program & Partial Hospitalization Program
For more flexibility in meeting the needs of different patients, we will soon introduce an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and partial hospitalization program (PHP).
An IOP provides a structured environment for those who need a high level of care without staying on site at our campus. Patients will take part in programming while retaining the flexibility to attend work or school.
Our PHP will offer a structured and intensive option for people seeking support for mental health challenges but do not need 24-hour support. Programming will take place five days a week.
Someone may enter one of these programs as a new patient or when transitioning from inpatient programming.
Our goal at Capitol Park Mental Health Hospital in St. Paul is to offer all levels of support so that we can help a broad range of people who are struggling with mental health or substance use challenges.
