St. Paul’s Leading Adult Inpatient Treatment Program

Opening Late 2025

At Capitol Park Mental Health Hospital, an affiliate of Fairview Health Services, our inpatient program provides 24/7 support for people who are experiencing severe, acute symptoms of a mental health disorder. This program is designed to help adults age 18 and older regain stability and build a strong foundation for long-term healing.

People usually participate in our adult inpatient program in St. Paul, Minnesota, for five to seven days. The exact length of stay will vary based on each patient’s situation.

Admission to Our Adult Inpatient Program

Seeking care for mental health concerns takes courage, but we’re here to help. Our team of experienced professionals will guide you every step of the way. At Capitol Park Mental Health Hospital, we want to connect you with the services that best support your long-term wellness.

Our adult inpatient program offers comprehensive care for individuals age 18 and older. To be admitted, you must have a primary diagnosis of a mental health disorder, with or without a secondary diagnosis of a substance use disorder.

When you contact us, we will conduct a thorough assessment to learn about your current symptoms and your mental and physical health history. We will then determine the appropriate level of care for you. If we believe that another facility would better meet your needs, we will be happy to provide a referral.

Our goal is to ensure a smooth transition to our program. We want you to feel informed and empowered as you move forward on the path to healing. We will go over what items you are and are not permitted to bring with you. We will then welcome you to our secure, comfortable campus, where you can make yourself at home.

What To Expect During Your Stay

During your stay, our team is available 24/7 to address your needs. You’ll follow a structured daily routine that carefully balances therapy sessions, group activities, and personal time.

Peer support will also play an important role in the process, including group therapy sessions with others who understand and relate to your experiences. Some patients form strong bonds with each other and even keep in touch after their time here. A community of support can help patients build a foundation for lasting healing.
